Summary
1in8B is free to play without registering. You may choose Google sign-in to manage cloud records and purchase entitlements. This page explains what the site handles and where it is kept.
On your device
Your current life, past lives, diary notes, settings and this site's analytics preference are stored in your browser (local storage). They never leave your device on their own and disappear when you clear the site's data in your browser.
Sent only when you choose
Share links store only that life’s name, country and age on our server. For Google sign-in and Cloud Life Keep, we store the verified email in encrypted form, a hashed Google account identifier, account ownership links and login dates, selected cloud records and Polar order metadata. Polar processes payments; card details never reach us. Card images and videos are made on your device.
Usage analytics
We measure anonymous usage with Google Analytics 4: page views and a small set of game events (a life begins or ends, shares, videos). Your game state is never sent. You can turn analytics off with the switch in the “Analytics privacy” section on the homepage; the choice is remembered on this device.
Advertising
This site shows ads served by Google (AdSense). Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and read partners'privacy at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Hosting and server logs
The site and its services are hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the service.
Retention
Local data stays until you clear it. Share-link records and Cloud Life Keep records stay until you delete them or ask us to remove them. The email used for Cloud Life Keep is kept while the entitlement is active.
Your choices and contact
Clear this site's data in your browser at any time, turn analytics off on the homepage, and use Google's ads settings for ad personalization. For questions, deletions or anything else, write to [email protected].
Public rooms and interactions
A room is private until its keeper publishes it. Chosen film chapters, public comments and the candle total can then be read by anyone. Private reflections are not added to films. To prevent repeated candles and abuse, the service stores a keyed digest of the visitor network address, not the raw address; a shared network may count as one. Removing a comment clears its name and text; a minimal record remains to prevent retries from restoring it. Withdrawing the room hides its film and interactions, and deleting the room removes their stored records.
Optional Google sign-in
Google sign-in requests only openid email. We use the Google sub identifier and verified email to identify your account and retrieve the correct cloud-storage entitlement. Sign-in uses a same-origin Secure, HttpOnly session cookie valid for 30 days. Our server does not retain Google tokens. Diaries and in-progress games are still not uploaded. Sign in with Google to purchase or retrieve Cloud Life Keep. No registration is needed to play.
Contact form and support email
When you submit the contact form, we use the name, email and message you voluntarily provide to answer your request. D1 form records are retained for at most 30 days. The content is emailed to [email protected], with a copy to designated support inboxes; Gmail copies follow support retention practices. Cloudflare Turnstile is verified on the server to prevent abuse. Support fields are processed in readable form; sign-in account email is stored separately with encryption.
Member support and account controls
In member administration, only authorised operators can view member, payment and saved-record metadata, keep support notes and manage sign-in sessions. These tools do not provide private diaries. Signing out ends the session; it does not delete your account or cloud records. To request deletion, contact [email protected]. Metadata needed for billing or security may be retained.
